Post Re: Farscapeaholic?

My name is ctheokas, and... I'm a Farscape-aholic.

It... it started back when the series was running new eps. I didn't use it right away. Not regularly. I mean, if it was on, I wouldn't turn it off, because I knew of it's Henson roots, and I'm nothing if not a Henson fan.

But then... then the third season came along. And I started watching more regularly, until the last four eps of the season, and then, well, I couldn't stop.

I recorded the entire fourth season on video tape. I bought all the DVDs. I even went back and watched movies the actors were in (Lantana anyone? Lani Tupu is in, like, two scenes toward the end of that movie. His only line: "Whaaa?")

I got a preview copy of the mini series, and I told all my scaper friends. And I admit, I gloated.

And now... now I'm a shell of a man. But I gots to get me some more Farscape!

Post Re: Farscapeaholic?

OK...I gotta tell yous guys this story. Remember when I started a thread about rewatching the entire Farscape series on the other board and discovered that I was missing 2 shows from season 4?

Well.....I finally figured out that I needed to replace a DVD that someone bought me with a new Starburst DVD that would have the missing shows. It is the 4.1 DVD. Because I'm so frelling lazy I never got around to buying it and figured I had plenty of time to do so. NOT!!!!

During my recovery from back surgery I decided it was time and went online to buy a copy. For some reason the DVD now costs $50+. Wha??? A few months ago they cost around $15-20. Well Frell me dead!!!

Anyone out there know why???

Post Re: Farscapeaholic?

I have no idea why the cost is so high. Maybe because of the lack of sales or the increase of sales due to the demand?

Post Re: Farscapeaholic?

probably lack of sales.... too bad.... I wish I could buy the third season.
I have no funds for that right now. At least I have my videos of the entire series. Better than nothing. And I have seasons 1 and 2 thanks to some nice relatives who got them for me a couple of years back.

Post Re: Farscapeaholic?

I'm not a 'Farscapeaholic', but I do love that show, mostly because I'll never see its like ever again.

Actually, Farscape re-ignited my interest in sci-fi, so much so, that I abandoned crime drama. Right now, I can't get enough of it -- the crime drama, that is.

I suppose, I could get into Firefly, or maybe Stargate again, but I'm afraid I cannot stand seeing Claudia Black with Ben Browder in that sci-fi show. Don't get me wrong, I'm not one of those... erm, I've forgotten what they're called, people. It's just that they belonged to another family -- our family.

Again, I say, I'm not a 'Farscapeaholic'. I don't live and breath them everyday... I just miss them so much that it sometimes hurts. I don't care if I only make up the virtual side of the family, and I don't care if no one is interested in me. I just want people to acknowledge that it was a good family, and that no show should be canceled, within reason.
