Nope. They are sold out here and I dont have the extra cash right now anyway. Probably wait for the collected version to hit.

I have not seen any Farscape comics as of yet. But then I have not really gone looking for them yet either. At one point I thought that I was not interested in comics, but I am starting to think that it might be fun.
I have not read comic books in years,.... |

Do it Zhan! They are fun! But I recommend starting with collected versions so you can read an entire story arc all the way through. I recommend Watchmen (duh), The Dark Knight Returns by Miller, and Blankets by Craig Thompson. And anything by Vaughn Bode.

I decided when it came out to wait for the collections. I used to collect comics years ago, but if I buy anymore, it's always the GN. And I'll do the same with this. But I'll definitely buy it, because it is Farscape. And I need a fix.

I have just read issue one - I have the John Aeryn and little D cover - its a photo from PKW,
the art work is pretty good, but then again I'm an old comic book nerd and art snob. so I am picky about a lot. It definitely has the look and feel of the TV series – that was captured very well. The writing is excellent, Dialog was so in tune with the series – I could here it spoken by the actors. Absolutely true to the Characters . The one issue I have with it is how the action is illustrated. This could be because they are new artists working on the issues, it will improve in time – but I was taught comic books by well established illustrators who emphasized; clear illustration of action, being creative with it, and the illustration should tell most of the story. So there were a couple of scenes that could have been better illustrated and the story does tend to rely more on the dialog than visual . Having said that – yes I an an utter comic snob – I demand a lot. It was still a very good comic and can stand up against most and do well. It is not for non Farscape fans, unless you know the series you will not be able to follow along the sub plots of the story or the reasons behind every action (let alone get any of the jokes), all though there is an attempt to give the gist of what's going on. But it is definitely for the fans. This fan was particularly happy because there was yet another Dr. Strange Love reference. Almost makes me wish I went with Col. Batguano for my name here (Almost – Not Quite). First issue title – The Beginning of the End of the Beginning Part One: the Return of the King. In a five star rating, I give it four stars. |

Just read the second issue.
It is great. The art work shows steady improvement – the story picks up along – dialog once again sounds straight from the series. Much happier with this cover – it is not a photo but an illustration, although obviously derived from a photo but it still looks much better – not much action in this issue but it does show much improvement on how the action is illustrated. I want to tell you what happens and who shows up, and Crichton references for his quips, but don't want to spoil it. I was very nerdy happy about a comic book reference in one of Crichton's remarks. Issues are way to short – can't wate for the next issue – quite a lot of improvement from the last issue to this one and the last one was pretty good. I still have problems with some of the illustrations – but then again I'm an old comic book nerd and art snob. I am certain most of you will be very happy with it. Please somebody else read it so I can talk about it. I found a new comic book store an hour away from me, and the store put me on a reserve list for future issues so my future copies are assured. |
